TCI: Rebel & Jeff Ruby Steaks preview – 03/16/2018

The TCI guys opine on the results of the biggest weekend to date on the Derby Trail, including last Saturday’s controversial result between Bolt d’Oro and McKinzie in the San Felipe, as well as a surprise Allowance entry last Sunday for Justify that could prove to be a Derby-contending move. Jon & Joel also preview this weekend’s action, led by a competitive – and lucrative – Rebel Stakes (G2) at Oaklawn, along with the Jeff Ruby Steaks (G3) on Polytrack at Turfway, and a possible prep for more Bob Baffert-trained colts at Santa Anita. Which 3-year-olds should you take away from last weekend’s results, and which 3-year-olds should you be watching the closest this coming weekend?
Watch it. Comment.

Nice work again, fellas! Drinking a cold beer and listening to you is my Friday night ritual during the TC season.

  • Hello Joel – I really like Magnum Moon for the win this week in the Rebel. I think he has Star potential and will sit a good stalking trip. I also believe that Combatant will be rolling late and could upset. Magnum Moon is my 25-1 KDFW3 bomber. Combatant is my 72-1 KDFW2 bomber. I think Vino Rosso should come off your list.
